Psychedelic integration refers to the process of making sense of and incorporating the insights, emotions, and experiences from a psychedelic journey into one's daily life. This practice helps individuals derive meaningful, long-lasting benefits from their psychedelic experiences, fostering personal growth, healing, and transformation. Integration typically involves various approaches, including:

  1. Therapeutic Support: Working with therapists or counselors trained in psychedelic integration to explore and understand the experiences. This can include talk therapy, somatic therapies, or other therapeutic modalities.
  2. Community Support: Participating in support groups or community circles where individuals share their experiences and learn from others.
  3. Personal Practices: Engaging in personal practices such as journaling, meditation, yoga, or art to process and express the insights gained from the psychedelic experience.
  4. Education and Resources: Accessing educational materials, workshops, and resources to understand the nature of psychedelics and their effects better.

“Integration is a process in which a person revisits and actively engages in making sense of, working through, translating, and processing the content of their psychedelic experience. Through intentional effort and supportive practices, this process allows one to gradually capture and incorporate the emergent lessons and insights into their lives, thus moving toward greater balance and wholeness, both internally (mind, body, and spirit) and externally (lifestyle, social relations, and the natural world).”

Synthesized definition of integration from Bathje, Majeski, & Kudowor, 2022:

Our trained staff from EMTs to provider levels physicians will be with you every step of the way on your journey. While psychedelic treatments always come with the possibility of unexpected risk, it is our duty to minimize them as much as reasonably possible. By engaging with proper risk management  techniques and practices we intend for our guests to have the highest quality experience possible.

Harm reduction services aim to minimize the negative consequences associated with psychedelic use. These services provide support and resources to ensure safer experiences and mitigate potential risks. Key components of harm reduction include:

  1. Education: Providing accurate information about psychedelics, their effects, potential risks, and safe usage practices. This includes dosage guidelines, substance interactions, and understanding the set and setting (the mental and physical environment in which the psychedelic experience occurs).
  2. Substance Testing: Offering drug testing services to identify potentially harmful adulterants in substances. This can help users make informed decisions about what they are consuming.
  3. Crisis Intervention: Providing support for individuals experiencing challenging or distressing psychedelic experiences. This can include on-site support at events or festivals, as well as hotlines and online resources.
  4. Aftercare and Support: Offering resources and support for individuals after their psychedelic experiences, especially if they encounter difficulties in processing or integrating their experiences. This can include counseling, peer support, and referral to professional services if needed.
  5. Advocacy and Policy: Promoting policies and practices that prioritize public health and safety, such as decriminalization efforts, access to accurate information, and the availability of harm reduction services.
